Children’s Weekend – 2013

Article posted on 1 July 2013 One Comment

Well we’re all home… back into the tasks, traumas, oh and delights, of everyday life….

But what a great weekend we all had….

Some great social time together; re-acquainting with old friends.. and making new ones, marveling at how are children are all progressing and growing.

Some great information sessions; including an excellent CPR session from St.John’s, Benefits Advice from Steve Bradshaw… update on MGA from Ruth Ingledew, and our AGM – the funkiest AGM ever! New ideas were discussed about the future of the children’s branch, (more to follow), and plans of action in fundraising, and possible regional meetings…..

We marveled too, at Lee’s amazing Magic Show.. which delighted and confounded in equal measure… lovely to see our older MG kids inspiring our younger ones…

Probably the best benefit is finding time to simply share, and talk together. Our stories are all unique.. but we have all had similar stories, and we gain real strength and encouragement when we realise that others know where we have been.
Fun leisure time in the pool, good venue, and plenty of food from the Moat House Hotel in Stoke on Trent.

And on the Sunday, saying our goodbyes, and families heading off to Alton Towers, Monkey World, or home…

For those who couldn’t join us, we missed you.. and look forward to seeing you soon….

A huge thanks to everyone who was involved in pulling this weekend together in such a short space of time…. and especially Nick Bedford for ‘taking the reins’.
